The University Library is pleased to be able to offer group study rooms. The following outlines the facilities, the reservation system and the rules and regulations

Facilities

  • Group Study rooms have been specifically designed to provide students with flexible learning space to work with each other on their academic pursuits including project work and presentations
  • Ten rooms are available in the Lower floor of the Library.
  • The rooms have been designed to offer the option of accommodating up to 6 or 14 users at any one time
  • Each room has working surfaces, network connection

Reservations

  • A room can only be reserved online at http://lib.bue.edu.eg 
  • Reservations begin from 10:00 AM and ends at 4:00 PM.
  • Bookings must be for groups of 3 or more
  • Please leave your IDs with the Librarian at the Booking Desk to open the room
  • Reservations can be booked for periods ranging from 1 hour to up to 2 hours per day per each group
  • Reservations can only be made by BUE students using BUE e-mails
  • The room remain reserved for the first 15 minutes of a booking  but in the event of non attendance is then available for other users

Regulations

Regulations are put in place to protect all students and assist with equality of opportunity and use

  • Belongings are the responsibility of the occupant; it is advisable not to leave the room unattended
  • Food or beverages are not permitted in the room
  • Furniture should not be moved from and to the room
  • Groups are responsible for their conduct in the room and should leave it in a condition which will be expected and appreciated by the next group of students
  • Rooms cannot be completely soundproofed so please be considerate of other library users by maintaining reasonable noise level
  • The University Librarian  reserves the right  to insist on the immediate vacation of the room and withdrawal of privileges associated with the use of the rooms ( or any other areas of the Library) should the behavior be considered inappropriate; this includes the contravention of the Group Study Guidelines
